# O International

> O International is a French nonprofit association (association loi 1901, founded September 2022) building O — an open-source, decentralized stable cryptocurrency pegged to the price of drinking water. 1 O = the average local price of 1 liter of potable water, across 142 currency zones. Built on Bitcoin Core, MIT-licensed, funded by donations. Nothing is for sale.

The project's goal is to enable stable money everywhere on Earth as a foundation for universal basic income (UBI), debt-free climate funding, and reducing the economic root causes of migration. Value comes from measurement accuracy (water price), not scarcity — allowing unlimited, stable supply.
